About the Position
Position Summary
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Health and Wellness Center. The nurse will provide direct, individual patient care and education to the NYU Abu Dhabi community in accordance with established medical standards and ethics, and oversee the development and implementation of health education programming at NYU Abu Dhabi.
Registered Nurses triage patients through interview and physical examination, treat patients following physician’s directives, provide individualized health education, and coordinate referrals and case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, refer, and follow-up with patients.
- Provide recommendations for prescriptions and diagnostic testing to physicians.
- Determine what and how to communicate health education information to patients.
- Regularly consult with the Director and Associate Medical Director of the Health and Wellness Center.
- High level of autonomy, with little supervision or direction.
- Flexibility to work with diverse, international population.
- Ability to travel regionally and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
Essential
- Ability to obtain RN license in the United Arab Emirates.
- RN license in the United States or other country with similar licensing standards.
- CPR and ACLS certification.
Desirable
Master's degree in Health Education, Public Health or International Health
Experience Requirements
Essential
- At least 5 years' experience as a registered nurse in a health delivery setting.
- Experience working with health providers and vendors to ensure optimal patient care and delivery.
Desirable
- Nursing experience in the United States.
- Experience working with college-age population and developing programs for a diverse college age population.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
